A CRM records what happened. It doesn’t tell you what to do next. That gap — between stored data and actionable insight — is where modern sales AI lives.
What actually moved the needle for our clients
Predictive lead scoring
Instead of the usual rule-based scoring (“opened 3 emails = hot”), we train a simple model on closed-won vs. closed-lost from the last 18 months. Features: firmographics, engagement patterns, time-to-first-response, content consumed. The output is a probability, not a grade.
For one of our B2B SaaS clients this reduced the “wasted SDR hour” rate by 38% — because the bottom quartile of leads could be demoted to nurture automatically.
Conversational AI for qualification
Not a chatbot pretending to be human. A short, well-designed qualification flow on the pricing page that asks 3–5 questions, routes the lead based on answers, and books a call for qualified ones. 24/7. In the prospect’s language.
Meeting intelligence
Recording and transcribing calls is table stakes. What helps is the layer on top: automatic CRM updates, “next best action” prompts, and weekly trend analysis of objections being raised. Reps stop forgetting commitments because the system remembers for them.
Account research automation
A small agent that, given a target account, pulls together the 10-K, recent press, leadership changes, and job posting signals into a one-page brief. What used to take an AE 90 minutes of prep now takes 2 minutes of reading.
What we’ve learned not to do
- Don’t replace the SDR, augment them. AI outbound without a human voice on top converts badly. It also erodes your domain reputation fast.
- Don’t score leads you can’t act on. A beautiful model nobody routes to is a science experiment.
- Don’t train on 6 months of data. Seasonality matters. 18 months minimum.
- Don’t automate the closing motion. Trust is a human game at the bottom of the funnel.
The best sales teams we work with have gone from dashboards they look at weekly to systems that tell them what matters daily. The dashboard is a museum; the AI layer is a colleague.
